Biography
Dr. Noely Mapunda is a Tanzanian Medical humanitarian Doctor, UN SDG Goal keeper, humanitarian volunteer, author and Founder. Born in the Matengo indigenous community of Mbinga, Southern Tanzania, his journey into medicine was shaped by witnessing how poverty, distance, and language barriers deny millions access to timely healthcare. Dr. Mapunda believes that “If healthcare is to serve all, it must speak the language of all especially for those left behind. He has dedicated his life to address Africa’s most healthcare overlooked barriers. “Inclusion”. From treating neglected diseased poorest patients during rural healing festivals in southern Tanzania advocating for maternal and child health to performing life-saving surgeries for displaced refugee children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He Volunteered with Doctors without Borders where he has served vulnerable populations affected by conflict, displacement, and healthcare exclusion. His work reflects a rare combination of Volunteerism, medical excellence and human compassion.
He is the Founder of NITIBU (HEALING) FOUNDATION, an organization advancing multilingual healthcare access for underserved communities across Africa. He has represented Tanzanian and African youth at the One Young World Summit, Global Solutions Summit, United Nations Conference on Universal Health Coverage, and the WHO One Health Conference. “He participated in the Africa Health Agenda International Conference 2025 and FIGO World Congress 2025, advancing linguistic inclusion as a critical solution for reducing maternal and child deaths in underserved Sub Saharan African communities.
He is a Laureate of the International Humanitarian Prize 2024 and the Global Volunteerism Award 2023, the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust 100 Young Leaders 2025, the African Union Youth Award 2021, and the Pan-African Social Impact Leadership Award 2022 recognized for his transformative contributions to inclusive healthcare and humanitarian service
